A huge thank you goes out to all volunteers, partners, and participants who came out to the 7th Annual Summer Splash on August 7!
James Chabot Provincial Park was filled with over 150 people eager to test out an array of water-related activities put on by the Lake Windermere Ambassadors, nine fantastic community partners and eight volunteer event assistants. Sailors competed in a Regatta, paying homage to a historical and skillful water sport popular on Lake Windermere (known to be windy!). Sailing currents in the sky above us were paragliders flying in from Mt. Swansea – what a sight!
This year’s Summer Splash partners included Syndicate Boardshop, Columbia River Paddle, Wildsight Invermere , East Kootenay Invasive Species Council – EKISC, Nature Conservancy of Canada / Conservation de la nature Canada, BC Wildfire Services, Mountain Om Yoga and Wellness Studio, and the Invasive Mussel Defence Team. Big thanks to Invermere Home Hardware Building Centre for generously donating time and supplies for our brand new Ambassadors ice fishing shack. We are proud to be part of a superb and supportive lake community. Enjoy a few photo highlights, and see you all next year!
Summer Splash is sponsored by the BC Parks Enhancement Fund and Columbia Basin Trust.
