SUMMARY:2022 Lake Windermere Earth Day Spring Shoreline Cleanup!
DESCRIPTION:The Lake Windermere Ambassadors’ Annual Earth Day Spring Shoreline Cleanup will be held on Saturday April 23rd from 10:00am – 1:00pm.\n\n\n\n\nThe Lake Windermere Ambassadors invite area residents to help spiff up our beaches during this year’s Lake Windermere Earth Day Shoreline Cleanup.\n\nParticipants will meet at kinsmen Beach and be assigned locations around the lake which have a volunteer leader. As part of the project participants will collect data on the types of debris found along their shoreline and the activities that might produce this debris.\n\nFor beach cleaners\, all materials will be provided including bags and gloves. The project organizers will arrange the disposal of collected garbage.Community groups\, businesses\, school groups\, families and friends are all welcome to join in on this rewarding event.\n\nTo register and help Lake Windermere’s shorelines\, please fill out the sign up form\nor contact Lake Windermere Ambassadors at info@lakeambassadors.ca\nYou can also show up at the clean-up starting at Kinsmen Beach on Saturday April 23rd at 10am\, and you will be given a location!

SUMMARY:BC and World Rivers Day: Artifishal Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:Join the Lake Windermere Ambassadors and Wildsight for a showing of the Patagonia Film: Artifishal. \nArtifishal is a film about wild rivers and wild fish that explores the high cost—ecological\, financial and cultural—of our mistaken belief that engineered solutions can make up for habitat destruction. The film traces the impact of fish hatcheries\, and the extraordinary amount of public money wasted on an industry that hinders wild fish recovery\, pollutes our rivers and contributes to the problem it claims to solve. Artifishal also dives beneath the surface of the open-water fish farm controversy\, as citizens work to stop the damage done to public waters and our remaining wild salmon. \nEntry to the film will be by donation. Doors open at 6:30pm\, film starts at 7:00pm.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Lake Windermere Ambassadors and Wildsight for a paddle down the Columbia River! \nWe will meet at Columbia River Paddle in Athalmer at 10am to get suited up for a relaxing paddle down the Columbia River. We will take out at Radium around 2pm. \nThe kind folks at Columbia River Paddle have graciously offered to provide rentals and shuttle at a discounted rate!\nShuttle\, Radium to Athalmer: $20/person\nRental of kayak\, canoe\, or SUP\, & return shuttle: $50/person \nPlease register in advance so we can ensure there is enough space for everyone at info@lakeambassadors.ca or 250-341-6898. \nThis event will run rain or shine\, ensure you come prepared with a lunch\, water\, snacks\, and weather appropriate clothing.
