All of the water monitoring and restoration projects we do wouldn’t be so effective without the support of the Lake Windermere community. We need the community to get behind the data to really connect the water stewardship piece. We do our best to get out into the community as much as possible at Farmers Markets, Community Boat Launches, and events, you can find us out most weekends from June to September! In addition to being present, we also produce educational brochures and signage, you can use the buttons below to check out some of our education materials.
One of our most successful community outreach program is our citizen science monitoring. We strive to take volunteers out in our boat every Tuesday morning from May to September. Volunteers are trained to collect water quality data in a scientifically accurate manner. This program provides a hands on connection to the lake, creating a desire to steward it.
Keep your eyes out for our tent, and come say hi – we’d love to chat!
