Join Wildsight Invermere and The Lake Windermere Ambassadors for a paddle up the Columbia River and discover the river from a new perspective. Along the way, we’ll explore the importance of healthy waterways, the wildlife and habitats they support, and what we can all do to help conserve these incredible ecosystems for generations to come and the incredible conservation efforts already at play in our Valley.
This BC Rivers Day, on September 27th, let’s celebrate the mighty Columbia River by getting out on the water and learning why protecting it matters.
Rivers are the lifeblood of our country. They provide drinking water, support fish and wildlife, shape our landscapes, power communities, and offer countless opportunities to connect with nature. Here in the Columbia Valley, the Columbia River is especially important — a vital ecosystem that connects our communities and supports the incredible diversity of life around us.
Come paddle, learn, and celebrate one of Canada’s great rivers — because protecting our rivers means protecting the communities, wildlife, and wild places that depend on them.
Grab your paddle and join us on the Columbia this BC Rivers Day!
You can bring your own canoe/ kayak/ paddle board or other suitable vessel, or you can rent one from Columbia River Paddle for a special discounted price of $60 per person in a canoe or double/single kayak, which includes a shuttle back to Invermere.
To book only the shuttle back to Invermere with your own boat, it’s $25/person. (Prices excl. tax).
This event is open to all ages. Please note that although there will be some experienced paddlers in the group, it is not a ‘guided’ paddle so you are responsible for your own safety and preparedness.
