Shoreline Clean-up

Be a part of the Great Canadian Shoreline Clean-up, Saturday, September 15th, 2012! This is a truly unique event where your single day of volunteering not only has a direct impact on the health of your local shoreline, but also provides nation-wide data on shoreline litter trends. On Lake Windermere, volunteers are invited to meet as a group at Kinsmen Beach and then disperse to clean a beach of their choice. Live far away from Kinsmen? You can clean up your local beach, as well. Just let us know and we’ll send you some data collection forms.

For those who want to help but don’t want to pick up litter, we also need help weeding the restoration site at Kinsmen Beach. On September 15th, bring gloves and tools and help make this site weed-free before the end of summer.

  1. I’m impressed, I have to admit. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s both equally educative and amusing, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. The issue is something which not enough folks are speaking intelligently about. I’m very happy that I found this in my hunt for something concerning this.
